History
Sakhoi is a village under tehsil Kerakat in District Jaunpur.
In "Archaeology of Jaunpur", Shri Tilak Dhari Singh hypothises in his work "Archealogy of Jaunpur", that the Saka's who extended the range of their rule across Maghad - potentially could have settled the village on the banks of the river Gomati, from hence the name was derived.

The village is multi cultural - with a mix of Hindu and Mussalman villagers. The majority Hindu's consist of Brahman's; Vaishya (Baniya); Shudra (Chamar; Nauka); OBC's (Yadava's) and Kshatriya. The Kshatriya's are the primary landowners, consisting of two to three distinct Rajput clans, one of which is the Durgbansi.
